How To Get The Perfect Suit Tailored at Keshan Bespoke ?

A tailor hard at work handcrafting the perfect suit for you

Tailoring is a craft that’s probably as old as civilization. It’s a skill that has been passed down from one generation to another over the centuries. The romance around it has dwindled with the arrival of read to wear garments mass produced in sweat shops but the passion still remains for the purists. It offers an individual an opportunity to get clothes fashioned to his precise measurements in a style that’s of his choosing with infinite customizations.

In order to however, achieve such a high level of satisfaction, here are some general ideas that would help you and your tailor to work towards the common goal of achieving the perfect fit for you.

Selection of the Fabric & Finalization of the Style

Select fabrics from a wide variety to commission your next suit

A wise man once said “ I may fail to make a good suit out of a good cloth but I most certainly cannot make a good suit out of a bad cloth.”

Its important for you to select the right fabric suited to you. The client must discuss clearly the purpose of the suit or any garment such as a shirt or a trouser or a sports coat to name a few. Our team of experts will assist you in the selection of the appropriate cloth based on your profession, local temperatures and physical attributes all within your budget. At Keshan Bespoke, we offer a large selection of fabrics curated from the leading global brands. The blends vary from cotton to linen to merino wool and noble fibers such as cashmere, vicuña and alpaca.

Different regions have varied styles. A client from New York would like a short jacket while one from Washington D.C could prefer a more classic block. A sartorialist from New Delhi could opt for a ultra slim fit while one from Kolkata may request a more silhouette fitted garment. In addition to this, every tailoring house has its own style. Thus, its important for you to clearly understand the house style of the tailoring house and suggest changes that you would like to incorporate. Monogram styles for your shirts and the type of collars or cuffs, the rise of our trousers, cuffs at the bottom, half lined trousers are some of the other details that need discussion.

Measurements

Get measured for that perfect suit

This step is extremely crucial. The cut of the bespoke cloth is based on the measurements. Our recent experiences at Keshan Bespoke, have revealed that more and more of our younger clients visit us attired in loose fitting crew neck shirts and low waisted denims paired with either sneakers or floaters. This makes it extremely difficult to take proper measurements. People generally tend to wear formal attire differently from ready to wear casual fashion.

We at Keshan Bespoke always prefer our customers to wear their best fitting suit and shirts over formal shoes when they visit us for measurements. This helps us perceive and understand their individual style. It also helps our tailors understand whether they want a comfort fit or a slim fit, the rise of their trousers and the preferred style of their dress shirts.

This is also the right moment to share other intimate details with your tailor. The details could be as minute as your choice of inner wear to serious information like details of any previous injury leading to any permanent disability. This will only help the tailor find a favorable solution and would reduce the alterations at the First Baste – trial fitting.

Trial Fitting & Delivery

First trial to iron out all those alterations

Every suit is a work of art. It has been painstakingly hand sewn by the tailor using his skill. Its important for every bespoke customer to understand that the tailor who has actually tailored the garment may never meet the client. Thus, despite his best efforts there might be alterations at the time of the first trial fitting. Each physique is different and each garment is being stitched for every individual customer. So, its natural for alterations if any to be there at the time of the trial.

The suit being recut after the trail to achieve perfection

After the first trial if both the client and the tailor are happy with the fit, the garment is then opened up seam by seam and recut to give effect to the alterations and sent for finishing. If, however, the tailor feels the need for a second trial then another fitting is scheduled before the garment is sent for the final finish. In the event of a true bespoke garment a minimum of 3 trials are required.
